Kids Can Get to Know Their Favorite Authors Through Twitter Chats

It’s that time of year again—young readers everywhere are putting down their summer books and leaving behind hours of unstructured time to reenter the school routine, most with a sigh. But this fall brings a special treat for kids who love to read: the Random House Author Chat series. Every week until mid-November, a beloved children’s author will hit Twitter to answer questions from fans. Kids can submit their questions live during the chat or ask in advance with the hashtag #rhkidschat. And—if the prospect of interrogating Christopher Paolini of the Inheritance series isn’t enough of a draw for young readers—the initiative also includes book giveaways!

Kids can find out about upcoming chats by following Random House Kids on Twitter. The Random House online teen community, Random Buzzers, also features a section where kids can read about past chats they may have missed.
