A new PBS documentary, The Graduates, follows six Latino and Latina students from across the U.S. as they journey--despite considerable challenges--through high school and beyond.
Exploring key policy and social issues, the film presents firsthand perspectives of the various struggles taken on by the students, their families, and their schools. Split into two parts and presented over two nights, the documentary first follows three female students before focusing on three male students in the second half. The students each have a unique story, and their interests, goals, and personal challenges are presented alongside the bigger obstacles Latino students nationwide face every day.
The first segment, "Girls," airs on October 28, and the second, "Boys," airs on November 4 on PBS. Check out the trailer above for a more detailed glimpse into each student profiled.
