Many gifted students are asked to take part in investigations or research for their classes, science fairs, and other activities. But how many of your students understand the principle of ethical research design and completion? To help your students grasp this concept, direct their attention to the "Ethics in Research" site, which provides a nice overview. Then, ask students to watch the video, "A Class Divided," which shows a real-life example of an investigation that pushed the boundaries of ethical research. This video is a great precursor to a discussion on famous experiments that crossed the line when it came to ethical research.
